Kisses and Kicks: April 26 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of April 26!

  • Kisses to Keili for all the work she has done keeping our community up to date with her articles. Can’t wait to read her future projects!
  • Kicks to event organizers who choose not to start an event on time in order to wait for latecomers who may or may not show up.
  • Kisses to all the ACU nurses at the hospital for their expertise and kindness.
  • A huge thank you to the staff and doctors at Cowrie Medical Clinic for giving us the opportunity to see a doctor on Saturdays instead of having to go to emerge. Try going to a walk-in in Calgary and waiting up to five hours. We are well looked after here.
  • Kisses to Harendra from Howe Sound Pulp and Paper who found my wallet on the sidewalk. Saved me so much work!
  • A cappuccino full of kisses to the two gentlemen who helped me up when I had a fall at Tim Horton’s.
  • Kicks to the drivers who park too close to the red fire hydrant along Ocean Avenue, Sechelt, between Hackett Park and the Greenecourt apartment building. You could and should get a ticket under fire regulations.
  • Kudos to Simon K, Dan and Ty and all the crew for a fabulous reno. All your skills are much appreciated.
  • Kisses to the lady who found my dog cHoncHos’ emergency seizure medicine in Lower G and came all the way to our Upper G address to return it for him. A much appreciated, kind and literally life saving act. Thank you!
  • Kicks to the parents who drive with their small children in the front seat of the vehicle. It’s not safe!
  • Kicks to dog owners who keep their dogs clipped in, but then refuse to hold the leash! That is NOT what “on leash” means and you know it.
  • Kisses to the folks at Splatters Paint & Decorating for helping me pick out office colours.
  • Kisses to the Earth Day organizers – what a great event.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
